We spent three days here with a big group of friends, and it was one of my worst hotel stays. The place felt more like a worn-down Motel 6 or Super 8 than a Hilton. Basic service was missing. There was no room service, our beds were never made, and I had to use the same towel for all three days because housekeeping didn't leave fresh ones. The room was dirty, with stained sheets. One friend's bathtub wouldn't drain, so they had to shower in ankle-deep water. When we reported it, staff said they couldn't move them and that maintenance wouldn't be available until after we checked out. I also found a cockroach on my last day. Another friend's room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke despite the non-smoking policy. I was shocked by how little care there seemed to be for cleanliness or guest comfort. I wouldn't recommend staying here, even in an emergency. Spend your money somewhere that handles the basics.

I don't usually leave reviews, but this was the worst Hampton Inn I've stayed in. The building was in disrepair, and the cleanliness brought to mind a grimy Hotel 6. Only a Howard Johnson in the Bronx that we once booked because it seemed like a bargain was worse, and this place was only a little better. After the rooms were supposedly cleaned, I found someone else's hair in the sheets. The shower still had hair in it too, so after a long day I had to rinse it out myself. Teammates staying here also reported cockroaches and other bugs, and I came away with a large bite. When I got home, I washed all my clothes right away in case I'd brought bugs back. The TV had just one channel. When I asked about it, staff said they were short-handed and suggested turning it off and on to see if that helped. I wouldn't recommend this place. Pay a bit more for a hotel that keeps up its cleaning.

The front desk staff were kind, and being near St. Louis was convenient. That was about the best part of our stay. We were in room 203. The bathroom was dirty, so I used my own wipes to clean a lot of it and took photos afterward. The floors throughout the room felt so grimy that we wouldn't walk on them barefoot. While we were checking the room, one of my kids found a bra under a chair, which made it pretty clear it hadn't been cleaned properly. There weren't microwaves or fridges in the rooms, which made traveling with kids harder. If we'd found another hotel, we would have left. We won't return to this location and can't recommend it.

After driving 12 hours, I arrived around midnight to be told Hampton had no room for me, even though I'd booked and paid through a third-party site. They said they'd called to tell me they were sold out, but I hadn't received any call. There were five overbooked reservations in all, and they offered no help finding another place. The desk attendant was rude. When I explained that I'd paid for the room, he replied, "I didn't charge you, I just got here at 11." I've had Marriott handle an overbooking by arranging a room at a nearby sister property, so this response was especially frustrating. The hotel had made the mistake and had no solution for me. I went across the street to a Comfort Inn, where John at the desk treated us exceptionally well and even gave us a discount after hearing what happened. I won't stay at a Hampton Inn again. Skip this property and book across the street.

The staff were pleasant, polite, and helpful, even though the hotel was full and busy. They seemed overwhelmed, but were trying. Still, the place needs a deep cleaning and refurbishment. I was disappointed by the condition, especially for a Hampton Inn. Dirt had built up in every corner I noticed, from the lobby and hallways to the elevator and rooms. The ice machine was on the first floor, with a puddle on the tile in front of it and a wet-floor cone beside it. Our room appeared to have been cleaned recently, and I think the sheets and towels were clean. The mattresses were extremely hard, though, and the air conditioning took a long time to cool the room and reduce the humidity. Just after we checked in, another guest was complaining about a leaking sink. Breakfast had little selection, and the drinking water wasn't filtered. The pool was cold and had no towels available. I had to ask the front desk, and they gave me only two.
