Quality Inn Fallbrook I-15

The place itself made a poor impression, and I wouldn't recommend staying here. We only needed a room for one night while attending a local wedding, so we didn't raise anything with management. The floors were dirty enough to turn our feet and socks black, and some of the vinyl planks were lifting and gapped, so we had to watch our step. I wore flip-flops around the room. The room also smelled like cat urine, apparently drifting in from a neighbor's AC unit. We never saw any housekeepers, even though we checked in at 1 p.m. The building looked old and dingy, with peeling paint, chips, and windows that seemed due for replacement. I wish I'd read the reviews first, since they describe the same problems and the manager's responses appear to be identical form letters. It didn't seem like the hotel cared about the property or its brand. I'm surprised Choice Hotels still lets them use the franchise. I wouldn't stay here again, even if it meant paying three times as much elsewhere. This place isn't worth a dime.

The pool stayed dirty for the entire week we were there. In our room, the floor was cracked and broken, the sheets had grime and a cigarette burn, and there was no hot water, so I showered at the nearby family's house I was visiting. The room also had a bad smell, chipped paint, two outlets that didn't work, and a burned-out light bulb. There was no smoke detector when we arrived. The hallway was filthy and smelled strongly of cigarettes, like it hadn't been swept in months. We brought these issues to the clerk. They replaced the sheets and installed a smoke detector, and swept the floor, but without a dustpan, so the dirt ended up in the hallway. The floor was unsafe to walk on barefoot or with kids. Nasty and dirty.

For four nights we never got a hot shower, not even lukewarm. The water was cold the whole time. The shower walls were covered in mildew, so we bought bathroom spray cleaner ourselves. The floors were filthy too, turning our feet and socks black, and even the towels turned black when we used them to wipe up shower water. I should have read the reviews before booking. This was the worst hotel I've stayed in, and the owners clearly don't care about quality or the negative feedback. Save yourself the trouble and book somewhere else.

Our room smelled like cigarettes, the walls carried noise through them, the paint was scratched, and there were stains on the sheets. The phone didn't work in our room, so I went to the front desk and learned from the clerk that they were replacing all the phone lines. At night the back entrance is closed, so you have to walk all the way around to the front. The amenities they list, like a fitness center, bar, kitchen, spa, restaurant, room service, and casino, seem to exist only on their website or in a dream. If I could give a negative rating, this place would get minus five for sure.
