ShoreWay Acres Inn & Cape Cod Lodging

The pool was clean, though you need to switch on the sauna about half an hour before using it. My room was adequate but could use some updating. The location is good, and breakfast in the morning was good too.

I had 15 guests stay at Shoreway Acres this past week for two to four nights each. Several enjoyed the grounds and pool, and most commented on how kind and available the staff were. They also found the rooms clean, comfortable, and spacious. Everyone said the breakfast was quite good, and since they booked directly, it was included in the room rate. I think the price is inexpensive and great value for money. It is a motel, and like many places on the Cape, a little dated, with a couple of shortcomings. Still, I’d have my friends stay there again without hesitation. The location is outstanding, less than half a mile from an uncrowded beach and even closer to Main Street in Falmouth, MA. Special thanks to Irene and Tammy, who went above and beyond to help us manage a reunion weekend for my college friends.

The central location was a bright spot, and I was glad I had booked just one night instead of the three I’d first planned, especially after reading other reviews. Check-in went fine, but as soon as we opened the room door, a heavy smell of dust, moisture, and must hit us. It seemed like the room might not have been aired out in months, if not years. I’ve included photos of the ceiling and entertainment center. I was truly disappointed in the facilities, though the location helped me remember we were only there for one night.

The location is fantastic, with an easy walk into town, and the place was clean. The drain for both the shower and toilet was very slow, though, and I think the inn needs a cosmetic overhaul. Even new bedding and artwork would help. ShoreWay Acres Inn has an old-time feel, with several buildings around a lawn and outdoor pool, plus swings and seats scattered about. It gave us “staying at your grandparents’ house” vibes. The decor, carpets, and technology haven’t been updated in decades, and we were given an actual key. Our room was clean but very dated. We stayed in the building with the indoor pool, where there’s a sitting area with an old box TV. I’m impressed the carpet looks so clean, though it must be at least 20 years old, or maybe it just looks that way because it’s dark.
