La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Fargo-Medical Center

We'd stayed here once before and had a good time, so this stay was a letdown. The room was clean, which is about the only positive I can offer. The hot tub was out of order, and we only found that out after buying swimsuits because we'd forgotten ours. There's construction going on too, something I'd have liked to know before booking. The TV had parental controls blocking some channels, and nobody at the desk knew the code. The snack area's drink fridge was completely empty. When I asked, the staff said they were waiting on an order. Could the manager not restock drinks and snacks at Costco or Sam's Club? The desk staff weren't helpful at all. I'm not sure we'll come back. I wasn't happy with this stay.

I appreciated being allowed a late checkout so we could return for our things. We needed to get to the hospital by 5 a.m., though, and the low-ish price was about the only reason we stayed. The location beside the hospital was handy, and when I stayed here 7+ years ago it was decent. This time the room was gross. There were big water stains on the hallway ceilings, and the elevator was so slow and sounded like it could break down any moment. The room walls and furniture had heavy stains, spills, and crumbs, like they hadn't even been wiped. Had my kids been with me, I'd have packed up and left. They're doing construction, so maybe it will be usable again eventually. Right now it felt nasty and poorly maintained.

The room itself was nice, but it probably wouldn't be my first choice. Maybe we caught a bad day, or maybe this place used to be better. Our toilet didn't work, and there was mold on the pool ceiling and walls.

This was the worst stay I've had. The place on South 46th St. in Fargo was cold and dirty, with hallways and the pool area in disrepair. The pool was shut during prime swimming hours, so my grandsons couldn't use it, which really bothered us. Breakfast choices were limited and the coffee tasted like hot water. The onsite management was rude, and the room rates were way too high for what we got. I've stayed at other LaQuintas without any problems. This one was a dump.
