Historic Hutchinson House B&B

Josh & Emily have made the Inn lovely inside and out. Our room was beautiful and clean, the bedding was really cozy, and the bed was comfortable. Communication was top tier, check-in was seamless, and parking was no trouble at all. I'd happily stay again if I'm in the area.

We were close to everything we wanted to do, just a 3-5 minute drive away. The house has a fun look, with bright colors outside, and our room was beautifully decorated, though about the size of a cruise ship cabin. There was no driveway parking during our visit, and I wasn't keen on the off-street parking, though it may not bother everyone. The first night the room was 64 degrees, and I was cold. The owners had said they keep the temperature at a set level in the older house, so I layered up and didn't say anything. The next day it was 68, just four degrees warmer but much more comfortable. Maybe they forgot to adjust it the first night.

Josh was quick to respond and really accommodating. The first day felt chilly, so he brought us a space heater and turned up the house heat. We stayed in the Hutchinson suite, the largest room, which was beautifully decorated and cozy, with a comfortable bed, clean space, and great view. It was a handy location for Northfield Jesse James days, with easy access to everywhere we wanted to go. There were plenty of complimentary snacks and water. I do wish breakfast were still served, though I understand it's not feasible these days after covid. Thanks for being a great host, Josh!

The only downside was that our trip was too short. My husband and I stayed in the North Star Suite at the Historic Hutch House and felt right at home. The bed was comfortable, and the pillows were fantastic, so much that I asked the host where I could buy some for home. They may be the best pillows I've had at an Airbnb. Josh and Emily leave coffee and snacks in the lobby, and we got lucky because some were favorites of ours. The front porch and greenery in the garden were lovely. The place was clean and safe, with pretty, thoughtfully chosen decor, a private bathroom, easy self check-in and checkout, and strong WiFi. We could walk to a grocery store and local restaurants and tap room, including cork&pints and 10,000 drops. I'd highly recommend it for a comfortable, clean, unique overnight in Faribault.
