We’ve usually chosen this hotel when visiting because it’s clean, has a nice atmosphere, and breakfast is a highlight. This stay was so different that we’ve decided it’ll be our last. Our first room had several patched holes in the walls and a door that looked as if someone had tampered with it, almost like they’d tried to force it open. We requested another room, but the mattress pad there had visible old blood stains. That raised serious cleanliness concerns. Breakfast was disappointing too. There were very few options, and staff kept saying they were “waiting on a truck,” so many usual items weren’t available. Noise was worse than we’d experienced before: kids ran through the halls, and the room above us stayed noisy well past 1 a.m., making it hard to rest. This wasn’t the quality or experience we expected. Something has clearly changed.

I unexpectedly needed a room for four days, and things were fine until breakfast on day two. They give out breakfast tickets at check-in, and ours had been misplaced. When I asked the desk for a replacement, I was rudely refused. I asked for the manager, but the desk person called them and wouldn’t let me speak to them. In the end, I had to pay another $13 for a ticket. The breakfast itself wasn’t good: hard waffles, old French toast, and no potatoes. I still have another day here, and I’d have to pay again to eat. I’ve never seen anything like it. This seemed like such a small thing to sort out for a guest, but they didn’t. I wouldn’t recommend staying more than one night, and if you do stay, skip breakfast.

The rooms were clean, but breakfast was pretty sad. Our pull-out bed had no sheets, blanket, or pillow. When we asked, we were told they didn’t have those things. We eventually got sheets and a blanket, but were told there were no pillows.

I booked for 1/30-02/1, but stayed only one night and left after being kicked out for asking for clean sheets. The bathroom in my first room was atrocious, with pubic hairs all over the floor and shower. I didn’t get upset. I asked for it to be cleaned in the morning, then called the front desk to follow up. They said I’d have to leave the room for them to clean it, because that was company policy. The person working the night before should have told me. I didn’t want to get dressed and find somewhere to go while they cleaned a bathroom that should have been clean before I arrived. The front desk swapped rooms instead. The staff member brought me the key and directed me to the room next door. When she brought it up, she took a deep breath as if she smelled something. Convenient, right? I invited her in after she seemed to sniff. I don’t smoke! Then I asked for a clean set of sheets, like I usually do, because I don’t know whether they’ve been changed. That turned into a problem. The general manager came to the door with another man to ask what was wrong. I told him again I wanted clean sheets, a normal request. He looked like he’d been drinking or was drunk, then told me to leave and said the police were coming. I’m still in disbelief. The whole reason I’d been moved was the cleanliness and sanitation problem in the first room, and now I was being thrown out for asking for fresh sheets. Such an inconvenience and waste of time. He said the police were on their way and I couldn’t come back. I was already leaving and had no plan to pay for another night in a dirty room. I’d better only be charged for the night I stayed. I WILL NOT BE BACK TO THIS LOCATION. If you want a dirty room and sheets, hassle, and then to be kicked out for asking for clean sheets, this is the place. I’m sure the GM would love to take your money.
