Best Western Plus The Four Corners Inn

The breakfast was the best I can remember at a mid-priced hotel, and the TV had a better channel selection than I’ve seen in quite a while. We stayed three nights over a weekend. The staff member at check-in was friendly and helpful, and our clean room had comfortable beds. Towels were replaced daily, but there apparently wasn’t daily maid service, which cost the hotel a star for service. It’s on a busy main road with shops and plenty of chain restaurants nearby. For local places, you’ll need to go farther into town.

We enjoyed staying at Farmington. The room was decent for the area, and breakfast was good, with green chili served each day. The staff were warm and welcoming, especially the grandma. They also sell soda and other drinks at prices better than any I’d found elsewhere.

The hotel itself was decent and the location was fine, but the way they handled our bill left me very disappointed. We checked in at 3:00 am and understood that we’d missed the night before. At checkout, the front desk said they wouldn’t charge us for that first night, and the receipt clearly showed it. When we got home, though, the charge was still there. A manager told me by phone they wouldn’t honor what we’d been promised. We visit Farmington a dozen times a year, but we’ve lost trust in Best Western and won’t stay there again.

After a 12-hour drive, moving all our things to another room at 9:30 p.m. sounded like too much trouble, even though I could have asked. Our room was marked non-smoking, but it still smelled of smoke throughout. The staff seemed to be trying to get rid of the odor, without success. I also have a strong feeling this Best Western is misleading potential guests with photos it posted on its website. The room we got looked much older than the rooms shown on its business profile. BEWARE, consider driving another three miles or so to look at other options.
