Baymont by Wyndham Fayetteville

The location is pretty good, though leaving toward the campus means fighting traffic. The room was clean and the hotel was decent. There weren’t many guests over the weekend, but the breakfast still seemed poorly planned, with few choices. The waffle mix was watered down, and the juice machine was empty. Staff seemed to stay behind the desk or in a back room, so you had to ring a bell to get help.

I was exhausted physically and mentally, and this was an awful experience. I was admitting my child to the hospital and trusted I’d have somewhere to sleep that night. I booked a nonrefundable stay, but when I arrived there was nobody at the front desk. I rang the bell and called the hotel for nearly twenty minutes without getting an answer, so I had to find another hotel. Baymont refused to refund the $66, saying I arrived after check-in time. They only emailed the check-in policy after I booked, and I wouldn’t have read it while dealing with my child’s hospital admission. It would have been nice if the hotel had made this right.

Our room was clean, but the hotel is outdated and the pillows are thick and hard. Our kids couldn’t lock their door. I get that it was a Friday night before a ballgame on Saturday, but the price was outrageous for the quality, more like what I’d pay for a 5-star hotel. I was disappointed in Wyndham this time. If you’re coming to town for a ballgame, call early to reserve a room so availability doesn’t drive the price up.

Terrible. I was almost eaten alive by BED BUGS, and my first night of the trip was literally ruined. When I told the front desk, their reaction made it seem almost normal. All they offered was a different room, and after fighting bugs all night, I was reluctant to get into another bed.
