Liz at the front desk made my day by upgrading me for free to the only room near the desk, just as I’d asked. The room was spotless, and the whole staff was friendly, professional, and ready to help. They keep everything running smoothly, whether it’s coffee, breakfast, afternoon soup, or whatever else is being served. It’s a welcoming place.

The kids had a great time in the pool, especially the kiddie pool, and everyone on staff made us feel welcome and treated us politely. We had a great stay and would definitely recommend this nice place.

Our family never made it to the hotel because a blizzard hit while we were driving to our reservation. The state had issued an extreme blizzard warning and said only emergency vehicles should travel. With a car full of children, continuing seemed unsafe and irresponsible. I called a few hours before we would have arrived, but they charged my card in full and offered no exception. The following day there was another $183.62 charge for a no show. I think severe weather and official travel advisories deserve reasonable consideration, and I’m sharing this so others traveling in harsh conditions know they may not receive any leeway or grace. When I contacted the manager, she took no responsibility for how assertive the front desk staff had been. There was no apology. She blamed me and said she would have refunded me if I hadn’t been rude. Apparently she considered it rude that I asked what the front desk clerk’s role was. She’s punishing me by taking $170?? The staff told me they can give out keys and write down names, but not issue refunds. Yet they can take money when a new guest comes in needing a room. What kind of business thrives on keeping people’s money when it hasn’t even served them? Management should teach staff to speak with guests and understand that circumstances differ. Maybe it’s a nice hotel, but I wouldn’t know since we didn’t get there. Don’t expect your money back if you give it to them. There are plenty of good hotel options in Ferguson Falls, and I recommend picking another one. I also wouldn’t recommend booking or planning ahead with American Wyndham Ferguson Falls.

The rooms were clean and the beds were really cozy, though the decor felt a little dated. They were renovating, so I expect things will improve. Our sink drained poorly, and I left a note in case it needed attention. Breakfast was available, and the coffee was good for grabbing before we got back on the road. The front desk was very nice and helpful, and we got 10% off a future visit. The entrance was welcoming and accommodating. This was our first stop on the way to Toronto for medical travel. Prices feel a bit high with the exchange rate, so it isn’t a budget option. Thanks for the hospitality!
