Baymont by Wyndham Ferndale/Royal Oak

My bed sagged like a valley, and the toilet seat came right off because it had no screws holding it down. I’ve seen motels in worse neighborhoods in better shape. I also saw a mother and two kids complain that their room was filthy and had blood all over it. The response was basically that she had booked the room, so it wasn’t their problem. The front desk was awful, and the place felt filthy and uncaring. The pictures they post look like they show somewhere else. I’ll never stay here again. What a nightmare.

The front desk people were cool, but the room wasn’t clean when I first checked in, especially the bathroom. The last straw was pulling out the couch for my brother. Just check underneath your couches 🤢

The location is the best thing about this place, and it might do if all you need is a cheap bed for the night. But the room had roaches, and even the clean sheets came stained and dirty. There’s no fridge or microwave in the room, and no room service. For fresh towels or bedding, they tell you to bring the used stuff down to the lobby. The only microwave is there, for the whole hotel to take turns using. Staff seem indifferent. Ask for soap or tissue and they just stare at you like they have nothing until you give up and walk away. They also require a $100 deposit, which seems a lot for this place. I had to rebook for personal reasons, and the clerk asked to see my card before I swiped it. That felt odd, and afterward I had trouble using the same card at another store even though it had money on it. It made me wonder if they were scamming cards. This is the worst hotel by many standards. I’d give it no stars if I could.

I keep seeing reviews from months ago describing the same problem I’m having today. The lack of care is disgusting, and the reviews already show what the rooms are like, so I don’t need to say much more. They’ve had plenty of complaints and still haven’t done anything. The whole hotel badly needs new management.
