Candlewood Suites Pensacola - University Area by IHG

The staff were great, and the location made it easy to get to the airport, shopping, and the Jazz Festival I was attending. I stayed here during this year's festival. The hotel is very nice, but cleanliness wasn't quite what I wanted. I have allergies to cat and dog dander, and I noticed a lot of pet hair on the hard floors in my fourth-floor room. I was told guests with pets are usually put on the lower floors.

I asked to move rooms after the people above me spent hours yelling, swearing, and disturbing everyone, but the hotel said it was full. The manager asked them to quiet down, and within half an hour they were yelling and swearing all over again. It feels like disruptive guests matter more here than people who have booked many times. This was easily my worst hotel experience in years, and I'll never stay here again. I'd give zero stars if I could.

The room was clean and cozy, with a great bed, and the service was wonderful, even though our stay was brief. When the AC in our first room didn't work, Laura was still kind and apologetic when we came back downstairs. She had already checked that another room's AC worked and moved us there. We arrived much later than expected, after midnight, so I called ahead. Justin was very pleasant and assured me they'd leave a note, and told us to travel safely. Laura greeted us with a big smile when we got there. We'd recommend this place.

The towel and sheets were dirty, and it didn't look like the room had been cleaned after the previous guest. When I asked the front desk for help, the woman said there were no empty rooms and handed me a clean sheet. This was the worst experience I've ever had.
