White Chief Mountain Lodge

The location is a big plus, about five minutes from Yosemite's south entrance, and the price was reasonable. Our room had comfortable beds, a kitchenette with a microwave, sink, table, and mini-fridge, plus a nice dense-forest view through the back door and a deck where we could get fresh air. Kristy made the stay much better. She was incredibly informative, answered all our questions, and sorted out every issue, including how to get the heater working. Breakfast was good, especially the fresh waffle machine, though I'd add yogurt and hot chocolate to the choices. I'd likely stay again, particularly if Kristy is still there.

It was a pleasant stay until we needed to clear snow from the car. The staff wouldn't lend us any tools, even though snow is a problem everyone faces this time of year. The hotel could be more helpful with that. Our room was warm when we arrived because the heater was already on, and we appreciated having a refrigerator and microwave. Breakfast was complete and thoughtfully prepared. Thank you!

We booked the Family Room with a terrace. It was quiet, clean, and comfortable, and the location was perfect for getting to Yosemite. During covid, we hadn't expected food services, but they found a clever way to offer breakfast. We chose what we wanted during our stay, and they provided it at check-in for us to warm in our room. A nice touch in difficult times. I'd recommend staying here.

We were comfortable and warm in the room and beds, and breakfast was varied and tasty. The staff were friendly. The rooms are a little dated and the shower was tiny, maybe around 2.5'x3'-ish, but for someone watching their budget it was all fine. The location is hard to beat, tucked among tall trees with birds all around.
