The price was hard to beat, and the accommodations were decent. Just know it’s up at the top of Fish Creek, away from downtown. We drove into town; biking would be easy enough, but walking is a bit of a trek. The main issue was the service. We arrived half an hour before check-in, and the woman we spoke with seemed genuinely angry we were there. While we waited in the open office area, my niece looked at the movies on shelves behind the desk. The woman came back from another room and got upset with us for browsing them. I understand not wanting guests behind the desk, but she didn’t need to be rude, especially since they apparently have a binder listing the movies. It was an okay stay, but I’d probably choose somewhere else next time.

We cooked steaks on the grill, which was great. The place is spacious, clean, and nicely equipped, and it doesn’t feel like a typical hotel. Great location too. My only gripe is that the living room TV is too small.

It’s a quiet, well-kept property in Fish Creek, right in the central part of Door County. Peninsula State Park is nearby, and getting to Egg Harbor, Ephraim, or Sister Bay is an easy drive. A perfect place to stay while visiting the area.

Kelly at the office was warm and accommodating, and we really liked the rooms, especially having two stories, a fireplace, and a full kitchen. We booked expecting downtown to be right outside the door because of the “just steps away” wording. It isn’t within walking distance. Maybe you could manage the long walk and hills on a nice day, but we were there in winter, so walking wasn’t an option for us. It’s a few minutes by car, and the distance was misleading for what we wanted.

We loved how quiet and peaceful it was, just far enough from town, with Fish Creek only a quick drive away. The place was very clean and roomy enough for our Mother/Daughter/Granddaughter trip, and the staff were so kind and helpful. We had a wonderful time at Hilltop Inn and highly recommend it. We’ll definitely be back! ❤️
