Ramada by Wyndham Fishkill

The lobby was in better shape than the room, and the photos online were a complete lie. The outside door that was supposed to open with a key didn’t work. Inside, the room smelled like cat pee. I’d rather have smelled smoke. The only lamp, surprisingly, worked, but most outlets didn’t. The tub was rusty, there were no trash cans in the room or bathroom, and the beds were horrible. The whole place felt nasty. I’ve never checked out so fast. The front desk clerk seemed to know how bad the hotel was and didn’t even ask if I’d enjoyed my stay. I’ll never return or recommend it. They should bulldoze the place and start over.

The front desk lady was nice and checked us in, but the hotel smelled of mold, pee, and cigarettes, and the room was dirty. The carpet was stained and hadn’t been vacuumed, there were food crumbs on the desk and nightstands, the toilet hadn’t been flushed, and a wrapper was in the shower. I asked the desk about it, and she apologized and offered another room. That one was dirty too, with stained bedding, hair all over the bathroom sink, and pee on the toilet seat. I canceled the reservation and left, highly disappointed. The hotel’s beautiful online photos were misleading and old. I don’t recommend staying here, and I recommend calling the health department. During the COVID 19 pandemic, nobody in the hotel was wearing a mask.

Free parking and the location near shops and bars earned the two stars. The room itself was missing a fridge, microwave, and even a phone. When I asked for a pen, I was told they’d run out. The bathroom was dirty, the curtain was old, and the windows were filthy. The comforter had cigarette burns, and the lotion and shampoo looked like they’d been refilled instead of replaced. I won’t stay here if I’m in the area again.

I’ve stayed at other Ramada Inns around the country, and this was by far the worst service I’ve had. My wife is pregnant and we both have asthma, so the cigarette smell in the room on the first night was a real problem. I asked them to freshen it, but that never happened. I was booked for eight nights, and even after asking multiple times, they never came to clean the room. I was told it would be done. When I asked for fresh towels, it took over an hour because they were understaffed. I was supposed to go enjoy the town, then come back to a stinky, dirty room and wait until they were ready to bring towels. I’m very disappointed and can’t recommend this place to anyone right now.
