Beach Front Motel

That beach is RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET, and the view for the price was beautiful. I'd get up for the sunrise. I forgot to take a photo, but trust me, it's one of the best views you can get. I found this place at the last minute while planning a birthday surprise for my girl, and I'm really glad I did. The staff were awesome, and check-in was a piece of cake. Our room was big and colorful, with a fridge and microwave, and the TV's DVR had a great choice of movies and shows. There are good amenities, plenty of nearby restaurants, and a pretty good pizza place in the parking lot. Leaving was simple, I just dropped the key in the jar. They had snacks and a little coffee and tea station in the lobby, and I grabbed a delicious oatmeal cream pie. Me and my girl enjoyed every minute, so I'll definitely stay again.

The desk staff were super nice, but the pictures are really misleading. We paid $225 for one night, plus they charged $40 for the dog, and the room felt like it had $40 put into it. The mattresses were slipping off the bed, there was hair all over the bathroom, and the headboards looked like they were from 1970. It's very dated. We needed somewhere quickly because my brother had a heart attack while in town, but at this price I expected much better. Know what you're booking.

The beach was the best part, though it got crowded by the end of the day even though we were there midweek. The room didn't feel private at all. We had the downstairs king facing the ocean, but the blinds were too small, leaving gaps several inches wide on both sides. Since our door was right by the office entrance, people could look in as they walked past. We ended up hanging our only blanket over the window. The east-facing windows made the room very bright first thing in the morning, with beams of sunlight coming through the gaps. The bed also faced east. There was only a small window AC unit, and it couldn't keep up with the heat. The weather was thankfully no warmer than 85°. I can't imagine being there on a 95° day. They provided just two small towels, and the kitchen had very little equipment. For the first two nights, the bathroom smelled like sewage, so we bought air freshener just to use it. The shower was old and had mold caked in the corners. We could smell cigarette smoke through our closed door at all hours, since the common area was only a few feet from ours and other room doors. Staff were friendly, but they wrote down our phone number and dates incorrectly. I happened to double-check a week beforehand and got it corrected. The common area was a picnic table and two plastic chairs, less than 10 feet from several rooms. There was one very rusty old charcoal grill. It absolutely wasn't worth $400 for two nights after taxes. We did appreciate that pets were allowed, but several guests let their dogs roam off leash, which made it difficult and dangerous to leave our room with our own dogs.

Our Room ( RM20) was very clean, fairly quiet, and had the BEST View of the Ocean. We ran into an issue during the stay. After several attempts to fix it, it turned out the motel hadn't caused it. The person at the desk still did everything he could, including moving us to another room and helping us move our things back to rm 20 once it was sorted out. We really appreciated that kind of customer service. We'd stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Flagler Beach.
