Compass Hotel Flagler Beach

We’ve stayed at four Margaritaville hotels now, and this one is easily our favorite. It’s right in the middle of things in Flagler Beach, just a block from the beach. The pool looked inviting, though it was too chilly for us to use it. Our room was simple, clean, and lovely. Dinner was a highlight: Chelsea, our server, made the evening feel special, and the chef did a great job with the drinks, appetizers, and straightforward dinner dishes. We really enjoyed our stay.

Breakfast runs until 10:30 a.m., which I really appreciated, and parking was included too. I had a peaceful weekend at the new Compass Margaritaville Hotel in Flagler Beach. It’s clean and quiet, with the beach right across the road and plenty of good local restaurants within walking distance. Both restaurants on site were excellent. One small suggestion: please keep dogs off the indoor furniture, since I found fur on some of the seats.

The rooftop lounge is beautiful at night. You can catch the stars and feel the ocean breeze, and the bar snacks are terrific, especially the tuna nachos. The martinis were perfect too. This brand new hotel is right across from the beach, with ocean views, and the location is great. The people were wonderful and the customer service was super. Breakfast was incredible, with hot food and good coffee.

We waited around 15 minutes after sitting down, and I finally went to the bar to ask for a menu. The bartender came over to take our order, but after that I had to go up myself every time for another drink, the check, and a box. Nobody checked on us once. Service was horrible from beginning to end, and I still can’t believe how bad it was. The pasta cost $26 and wasn’t good or worth the price. There are other local places to eat that aren’t this expensive. We left no tip. I wouldn’t recommend this place; expect to sit there a long time.
