Americana Motor Hotel

Our family had a great time and already plans to come back. The fire pits were lovely in winter, and we were told there’s also a heated pool. We could borrow board games and telescopes, and the s’more kits, snacks, and cute souvenirs were fun extras. Cove was especially attentive, giving us lots of tips for places to visit and eat, including Eat & Run for breakfast. The staff answered all our questions with a smile. We all loved how clean the room was and how comfy the beds felt, and my grandkids were delighted by the playful decor.

We loved the quirky retro look, especially the in-room disco ball and funky headboard, and the bed was super comfortable. It’s right on Route 66 in Flagstaff, in a great spot, and the customer service was great. There was a free drink at check-in. We didn’t get to try the restaurant on site, but we will next time. The air conditioner was noisy, though. Still, if you want somewhere fun and different that’s affordable and well located, the Americana Motor Hotel won’t disappoint. This will be our go-to motel in Flagstaff.

It’s the little extras that made my stay memorable, from the welcome drinks to having bicycles available and the fire pits. The rooms are comfortable and nicely equipped, and the whole place feels unique. I stay in hundreds of hotel rooms a year, and while this one might not be four-star, those thoughtful touches more than make up for it. I highly recommend it. Skip a stay here and you’ll miss a one-of-a-kind experience.

It’s small and definitely not upscale, but it’s clean, fun, and has a great retro feel. I felt like I’d stepped back into the ’70s, and being right on Route 66 made that even better. The dog run is excellent, with two gates so your dog can’t wander out by accident. You’re near a train track, although our room was set well back from it, and earplugs took care of the noise. I’m not sure I’d stay a whole week, but a couple of nights is just right. I’ll stop here whenever I pass through Flagstaff now.
