Baymont by Wyndham Flat Rock Hotel

We’ve stayed here for years, and the service used to be just okay. I moved out of state, and since then there’s been a new owner, construction, and new staff. I stayed yesterday, 4/6/2026, and was more satisfied than ever. The night front desk crew greeted us warmly, kept checking that everything was going well, and were always helpful and smiling. The morning crew was just as welcoming and helpful, and even a housekeeper noticed my hands were full and offered me a bag while we were checking out. If you’re a new member and sign up, the room price drops from 90 to 70. Love this place.

The customer service today was phenomenal, and Stacia was kind and polite the whole time I was there. Whenever I saw her, she was wiping things down and keeping the lobby and common area tidy. My daughter stubbed her toe, and when Stacia overheard me saying I’d get a bandaid later, she offered one right away without waiting for me to ask. I’d definitely come back.

The staff were pleasant and professional, and our room was clean. Breakfast was fine too. The pool was cold because people had propped the doors open, and the pool area was in rough shape, with green mold around the walls and floor and dead and smashed bugs around the area, including on the walls and windows. This visit wasn’t as pleasant as usual.

My girl and I booked a room for a weekend getaway, but as soon as we walked in, she spotted bugs and that was it. There were also holes in the drywall, and the counter help was unpleasant. The staff tried to make things right, but this hotel needs work, so we found somewhere else to stay. I don’t know how it got a 3 star rating in this condition.
