Holiday Inn Express Melbourne West

For anyone traveling on I 95, this is a handy stop, less than 1/2 off the highway in a well lit, safe area with lots of parking. We took a road trip through Florida and booked a month ahead because the hotel fills up most nights. The staff were very friendly, the place was clean and quiet, the AC was good, and breakfast was good too. Our suite with a king bed and pull out sofa cost $250.

The shower had great pressure and, best of all for me, no water dripped out. The carpet looked a little worn, but it was very clean and even smelled clean. Breakfast had a nice choice of hot and cold food. The room was great, and the price was unbeatable. I’d recommend the hotel to anyone.

At breakfast, hotel management questioned me as if I were a vagrant who’d come in from the street for a free meal. I can only assume it was because of some unusual body movements I sometimes have due to my disabilities. When I got visibly upset and started crying, they threatened to call the police to “explain things” to me, then told me to take my breakfast to my room. I’ve never been treated so disgustingly. I complained to corporate right away, and the case is still open. The hotel was told to contact me directly and keeps reporting to corporate that it has, but no one has made even one attempt. The place seems to be managed by people with no discernment and no humility to apologize when they’re clearly wrong and have hurt someone’s feelings unnecessarily.

The hotel was a great experience. It’s really close to restaurants and Goodwill, which was convenient. The front desk was accommodating and answered my questions easily and accurately. The young man was helpful on the phone too. Excellent hotel.
