The hotel itself was fine, but the way guests were treated made me decide against staying longer. As a Diamond Elite member, I should have been offered either 500 bonus points or a welcome amenity at check-in. Neither came up. It wasn’t a huge deal, so I went to buy a bottle of water and charge it to my room, as I normally do, but was told I couldn’t. I didn’t have cash, and when I said the water should have been offered as my welcome amenity, I was told I couldn’t do that either. That’s their loss. I was trying the hotel for one night before deciding whether to book 60 days of work in the area. With a bit more respect and less of a don’t-care attitude, I would have stayed for two months or more.
We’ve stayed here several times and always choose it when visiting my parents. The rooms are consistently clean, the beds are super comfortable, and the heat is nice. The staff are kind, my kids love breakfast, the coffee does its job, and the water pressure is okay.
Everything was nice and clean, and everyone was friendly and helpful. Samuel was especially helpful, though the rest of the staff were friendly too. Breakfast was good, and the Southern milk gravy was unusually good for an institutional version. I wanted to go see how they made it! The accessible bathroom was well thought out for my needs, with a shower and bench and grab bars in useful spots by both the toilet and shower. It really needed a floor drain, though there isn’t much you can do about that after construction. The chairs were tough on my old back, so I ended up sitting in my wheelchair instead. We paid in advance and stayed a few days, but people kept rapping on our door around checkout time even though we’d hung the do-not-disturb sign. They were persistent. It also took us a while to figure out that the thermostat near the bed didn’t seem to communicate with the heater. We finally got the room warm by adjusting the actual unit.
We were here because of an emergency housing issue, and the location was close to a lot of things. The rooms were very nice, clean, and new, with quality bedding that made for a comfortable night’s sleep. Everyone on staff was helpful and friendly. Having a washer and dryer on the second floor was very convenient. It was a nice experience for us.
I was charged extra amounts on my credit card that I consider fraudulent. The front desk workers were extremely rude and took several smoke breaks instead of helping customers. The hallways and stairway stank, and the place felt very unsafe. Hotel workers also came into the room without announcing themselves.
