River Run Bed and Breakfast

I’d never stayed at a B&B before, and this one didn’t disappoint. The huge porch and all the knickknacks gave the house a cozy, almost magical movie feel as soon as I parked. It’s handy for skiing at the mountain and getting to other Catskills towns. If you stay, have a chat with owner Ben, he has great stories about the area.

Ben is friendly, knows the area well, and cooks a filling breakfast to order. The price felt like great value, and staying in the big, quaint Victorian house, full of quirky pictures and artifacts, was a hoot. We loved our visit and will be back. Thanks, Ben!

Ben made sure we had a great time, with plenty of generosity, accommodation, and a good sense of humor. He even showed us his secret costume room and lent us accessories to add sparkle to our wedding outfits. 🙃 We were there for friends’ wedding at River Run, felt at home right away, and had a blast. The cozy house is conveniently located and has what you need, plus a lovely creek. We can’t stop raving about it and are already planning to return.

Ben was a friendly, wonderful host, with a deep knowledge of Catskills culture and the local neighborhood. He served a home-cooked breakfast, and the quiche and French toast were my favorites. The historic Bread & Breakfast in Catskill, NY, is a fascinating place to explore, with its 137-year-old building, nine bedrooms, and collection of vintage relics. It’s also close to Belleayre Ski Resort. I’m looking forward to visiting again soon.
