Shadowcrest

The rooms have everything I needed: a fridge and freezer, microwave, clean bathroom and shower, desk, blackout curtains, and a super comfortable bed. The decor blends renovated mid-century modern style with Victorian antiques, and I loved it. The owners are so sweet and helpful, and gave genuinely useful tips for getting oriented around town. I picked up wine down the street, and they opened it and brought glasses, plates, and silverware for my takeout dinner without me even asking. Nearly 100 five-star reviews say a lot. I’ll be back often!

Brendan was a terrific host, and the rooms are gorgeous. The nature around this town is amazing. Even though we visited Sunday to Wednesday in April, when many nearby places were closed, there was still enough to see and do, or we could just relax on the porch. We’ve traveled all over and may never have had a more pleasant stay at an inn or hotel. I already miss this place and little town!

The room was small but thoughtfully equipped, with a comfortable bed, nice wall art, a TV, hot water heater, and tea. The bathroom was very nice, and the shower may have been the best I’ve ever had: perfect pressure and new fixtures. Brendan was easy to reach by phone or text and had good suggestions for things to see around town. Shadowcrest was a great stay. The town is quiet, but there’s enough going on if you want to eat, drink, or shop.

The room was clean, comfortable, and ready before check-in time, and we felt at home with warm, welcoming host Brendan. He shared great recommendations for local restaurants and things to do. We especially enjoyed the excellent porch at this charming guest house. The location is excellent, close to route 28.
