Baymont by Wyndham Flint Airport North

The place was filthy, from the parking lot to the hallways, and housekeeping service was really bad. There were roaches in the bathroom, doors that looked kicked in, and a wobbly toilet. The bathroom handle was halfway off, and there was no extra lock on the hallway door to the room. The toilet paper felt like paper towels, so I had to buy my own. We asked for three full towels for three people and got three hand towels instead. They didn't care. Just a crappy place.

I saw bedbugs and cockroaches crawling on the bed and pillows while I was lying there, so I jumped up and went to the manager. He moved us to another room, but there was a strange egg-like thing on the new bed's sheet, and I couldn't sleep well. The room was old and creepy and didn't seem to have been vacuumed in a while. We checked under the mattresses but didn't find any bugs there. The next morning I had two bites on my ankles, and I can only hope bedbugs didn't get into my luggage. When I showed the front desk a photo, they said those insects don't bite people. It was an unbelievably horrible stay, and I'll never return. Beware of Room 120.

Even the things that worked couldn't make up for this stay. The heat and TV were fine, as were the mini fridge and microwave, and the morning Waffle Guy was incredibly pleasant and helpful. The waffles looked delicious. But our room smelled like fecal matter, and we eventually found dirty underwear under the safe. The safe itself was sitting on a rolled-up grocery bag, which I told my children not to open under any circumstances. There was no toilet paper when we arrived, the pool was freezing, and the room phone was inside the safe with no cord. A cockroach was in the hallway, and fruit flies were in the room and in my breakfast juice. Someone in the hall offered weed to my 13-year-old. Plenty was broken too: the toilet paper holder was missing, the bathroom latch didn't work, the security latch on the hotel door slid right off when opened, the curtains had holes and horizontal cuts like a knife made them, and the hair dryer didn't work. I've stayed in plenty of bad hotels while traveling for work, but never one this bad. Don't go here.

On January 12, 2025, I found bugs on the bed in Room 235 and asked the desk for another room. The woman there was very nice and pleasant, but the replacement room had a leaky tub, a broken TV and phone, slightly dirty sheets, and a microwave with a short in its cord. The morning front desk man was rude, didn't understand or help with my complaints, and wouldn't compensate me with another stay. I won't return.
