Hyatt Place Flint / Grand Blanc

The rooms were immaculate, with very comfortable beds and a spacious bathroom with a nice walk-in shower. There was plenty of vanity space, and the lighted mirror was handy while getting ready. The shared spaces were beautiful and good for working. The one thing I could call a complaint is that there aren't microwaves in the rooms, which surprised me given the other amenities. We were welcomed warmly by several staff as soon as we came in, and everyone we met during the stay was friendly, helpful, and incredibly accommodating. Tre went above and beyond to help me print an important business document. She's a ray of sunshine! We had a fantastic stay.

The room was clean and looked like new, and the location is great for Flint Michigan Airport. The check-in staff were fabulous. A letdown was that housekeeping left the shampoo bottle empty in the shower, and there were only two tissues left in the box with no refill. That's definitely not what I expect at Hyatt.

I chose a pricier hotel because it offered food service, but when I saw the 'menu' I realized it was a microwaved restaurant meal, especially after the check-in host went back to 'prepare' my order. Nobody asked how I wanted my burger cooked. I had to ask for a knife to cut it, and no fork was offered for the burger's contents. I gave up rather than eat a pre-prepared burger that way. They didn't charge me for it, but nobody explained what went wrong. If I needed a fork, I could have asked, apparently. Do I think I'll have breakfast with them? I think not. I blame myself for assuming a higher price meant better quality.

We've been here a few weeks, and I love how quiet the rooms are. They're pretty soundproof, so you don't hear much from outside. Everything is clean, and the pool and gym are really nice. There's even a pool chair for anyone who's handicapped, plus outdoor seating areas. Meijer and restaurants are close by, and if you forgot something, they probably have it. The staff have all been amazing, from the front desk and kitchen to housekeeping and maintenance. Every single person has been so nice and helpful. There's something for everyone at breakfast, and a nice sitting area, with a couple of spots where you can watch TV while waiting for your room or just take a break from it. I like that you can ask to have a microwave brought to your room instead of having one in there. Thanks to everyone at the Hyatt Place for making our stay so comfortable!
