Stardust Motel

The meal at the bar next door was a real bonus: an excellent NY strip steak with a baked tater and homemade chili for $23.95. After ten hours behind the wheel with my dog, I’d first gone right past this little, unassuming motel on US 2 in the middle of nowhere. Then I turned around on a whim. On September 11, the first day of my cross-country drive, the office was closed, but Eileen answered through the Ring doorbell and told me Room 6 at the end was open. I could go in and settle up in the morning. Opening the door was a surprise. Everything about the room felt amazing, from the high-quality decor to the comfort. If you need a place in this part of Minnesota, it’s worth going out of your way to Stardust Motel in Floodwood.

Comfortable, clean, and friendly. Such a nice surprise, and I’d stay again.

The kids have loved staying here, and we’ve felt safe. The rooms are extremely clean, and the owners have been amazing. My family came from out of town, and she was really helpful in suggesting places for me to go. This place was great!

We’ve been coming here for mini vacations for the past few years, and always stay in the same suite. It’s super cute, clean, cozy, and comfortable. The owner is a lovely human who works hard, and it shows. She’s accommodating, and we’ve never had anything negative to say. Truly a hidden gem. You don’t come across places like this often.
