My wife and I stopped here for the night on our way to St. Louis, and I'm glad we did. The rooms are modern, while the place still has some old-fashioned charm, and the price was good. The owner was relaxed and attentive, and made things easy for us.

Everything went smoothly, from making the reservation and talking with the owner to check-in and checkout. Our room was immaculate, with no dust at all, and my sister said the same about hers. We liked the ceiling fan and bathroom exhaust fan, and there were plenty of charging jacks and accessible outlets on the lamps. The carpentry and fixtures looked well done from the refurbishment. Our only small gripe was that our four-wheel-drive truck felt too big for the parking space. I worried we were taking more than our share, though nobody complained. It wouldn't stop me from booking again.

Once you're in the room, it doesn't feel like a motel. The rooms are clean and updated, and you can walk to just about everything. It's easily one of Waterloo's best-kept secrets, and there's a reason people rate this little motel so highly. Come see for yourself.

The room was tiny, but very clean, and we especially liked having no dirty carpet. The beds were super comfortable, and check-in was easy. This is a lovely, tucked-away motel.
