The water was a nice touch, too! 💦💧 Hart Estate is one of the best places to stay in Southern Illinois. The owner made us feel right at home, and everything was spotless, especially the bathrooms. The estate is full of beautiful household pieces, and you can see the care that went into the decorating and all the little details. Waterloo is lucky to have a place like this. I can't say enough good things about it!

We had a wonderful weekend and were able to use both the dining room and kitchen. The host has filled the old house with antique furniture, dinnerware, and collectibles, all thoughtfully put together. They're gracious without hovering, and their knowledge of local history added a lot to the stay. Highly recommend.

Brian was a great host, and his home feels like a museum. The location worked really well too, right across from the ice cream parlor and close to town. Downtown St. Louis is only about 40 minutes away.

They ruined my friends' wedding day by telling us one thing and then changing it completely. After that, they talked about us in the hallway as if we couldn't hear. I've rarely experienced customer service this bad. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, ever. I wish I could give it zero stars.
