AC Hotel by Marriott Kansas City Downtown

Everything from check-in through checkout was wonderful, and the front desk team and night security staff were great. My room was amazing, and the nearby streetcar would’ve been handy, though it was too cold for me to take a ride. I was especially glad to be close to the airport for my very early Saturday flight after Thanksgiving. The valet parking price is ridiculous, but otherwise I had a great stay and highly recommend the hotel.

I’ve stayed at a lot of Marriott hotels around the country, but this was my first AC Hotel, and I was surprised by how nice it was despite its two-star rating. The modern, stylish feel was great, and the guests all seemed happy. My room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were really friendly. They even gave my boyfriend a birthday card, cookies, and a complimentary water at check-in. 10/10, I’ll stay again.

For what we paid, this wasn’t what we expected. Other Kansas City hotels at about the same price have nicer decor, bigger rooms, breakfast, and a pool. Here there’s no breakfast service or pool, and the lobby floors and elevators could use remodeling. Our room was small but clean, though we had to ask twice for towels and waited four hours. You also can’t walk indoors to the Convention Center from this hotel, so you’ll need to drive or take an Uber and pay $20-$40 a day for parking, plus a tip.

The rooms looked brand new and were clean, and the front desk and reservations staff helped get my group booked on short notice. It’s a very nice Marriott property downtown, about four blocks from the T mobile center and an easy walk to most downtown spots.
