Orangeburg Inn & Suites

For $61 including taxes and fees, the room was okay for a night, but don’t expect much. It was advertised as recently refurbished. The lobby did look redone, and there was a striking wall of 60 live CCTV feeds covering the building, walkways, lobby, and halls. They seemed to have put serious money into that system for a motel that looked almost empty. The room was fairly clean, had no bugs, and included a mini-fridge. The rest was disappointing: no Wi-Fi, coffee maker, or soap of any kind. The TV had only about 10 channels, most were snowy and unwatchable, and there were no premium channels. There were holes where pictures had been, peeling paint in the tub, and cardboard-like toilet paper. When I pulled the roll, the whole flush-mounted holder came out of the plaster. There’s no breakfast, which I didn’t expect at that price. Pets aren’t allowed, and being caught means a $250 charge. My wife and I were traveling through and just needed a bed for the night, so the cheap price was okay. Keep expectations low for a $61 room.
