SpringHill Suites by Marriott Irvine Lake Forest

We were there for a sporting event with 16 other families and plan to play in the same tournament next year. After this, though, I'm not sure I can trust the staff. We checked out Sunday 3.1.26 and realized that day, when unpacking, that a bag was missing from our vehicle. I called that night. Nick said no one was in the room and housekeeping probably hadn't cleaned it yet; he said he'd check himself and brief the new staff at the 6am shift change on Monday 3.2.26. I called at 7am, but the new staff knew nothing about my request and said nothing was in lost and found. When I asked them to check the room, they said it had been occupied since 952pm the previous night. So housekeeping had serviced it after we left and hadn't turned in the bag. Very disappointing. I asked for the theft to be reported to management and hope someone calls or compensates me. The bag had prescriptions, including oral contraceptives that aren't high theft risk, a brand new sonicare toothbrush, prescription toothpaste, all my children's medications, all my Clinique makeup, and personal care items.

We came for training and expected basic comfort and decent service, but this hotel fell short. Parking was limited, yet they charged $20 per day, and we sometimes had to park at the mall. The Tesla chargers were always full, and staff just told us to go to the mall. There was no pool, and often only one elevator worked. Our shower pressure stayed very weak for all seven days, and there was no coffee or hot water for several days. We're Gold Elite members, but got no benefits, not even late checkout. Staff told us everyone is treated the same whether Gold or Diamond. They weren't friendly or helpful, didn't smile, and answered questions dismissively. The room and facilities were poor. We wouldn't stay again or recommend it.

I'm a business traveler with Marriott BonVoy Ambassador status, so I've stayed at many of their brands at different price points. The standout here at SpringHill Suites was the customer service. I finished a weeklong stay today, with my family joining me for four nights, and we couldn't have asked for more. Staff were friendly, every request was met or exceeded, and the property was clearly well run. The location is great, the rooms were just what you'd expect, and service beats what I usually get at higher end brands or Autograph collection hotels. I'll return with family or on my own for business.

I spent the week here and enjoyed my stay. The employees were all very kind and greeted me with a smile. SpringHill Suites is conveniently near the spectrum and plenty of good places to eat.
