Travelodge by Wyndham Florence

Traveling with our pets was much easier and more enjoyable here because it's so pet-friendly. We had enough room for everyone, and our room was clean and comfortable. Staff were welcoming and friendly, and check-in and checkout were both easy.

The room was decent, but I've paid less for better ones, though I guess that's the coast for you. Staff weren't especially friendly. I arrived at 10 p.m. and had to check in through a window slot. The attendant handed me a key card and turned away without saying where the room was. He'd barely said 10 words to me, and there was no map. I had to call him back to the window, and all I got was a finger pointing outback.

Please read this before booking. I was extremely cold all night because the blanket was thin and there were no extras. The room heater and coffee maker didn't work, and I couldn't get dry towels when I asked. I called the front desk twice, but was told there was NO SERVICE BEFORE 7AM, STRICT, NO EXCEPTIONS. They only offered a call back from the hotel at 7:00 am. No flexibility or compassion. I layered all my clothes and took the extra thin blanket from the other queen bed to stay warm. I'd just come out of the hospital with Congestive Heart Failure and Pneumonia. Very sad. TravelLodge of Florence BAD 👎 I recommend never staying with these folks again. Live and learn. The bed was comfortable, the linens and surfaces were clean, and we slept well with the back window open. We brought our dog and had no issue, though there was a $25 fee. The room had a decent sized fridge with a freezer shelf, a large TV with working cable, and a tiny pod style coffee maker. There was no AC, but windows at both ends and a newer tall fan kept us okay in October. The place is clearly an old motel with a face-lift rather than a full renovation. You have to ring a bell and wait a while for staff to appear. The hot water never got hot, and the pipes made loud, odd noises when we turned it on. We booked with points, and I probably wouldn't pay to stay here.
