Days Inn by Wyndham Foley - North Gulf Shores

The refrigerator, TV, and most of the lights didn't work at first, though I got the TV and lights going. I had to wait until morning for a fridge. At breakfast there was no coffee or pancake mix, and it took a while before I could get anyone awake and working. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

This was meant to be one night on a long road trip, but it ended up being a waste of money. There was blood on the sheet and floor, used products in the tub, and the bathroom was disgusting and dirty. Something that looked like blood was on the lampshade, though I don't know what it really was. I said I couldn't stay in the room and was assigned another one just as disgusting. I left without staying and asked for a refund, which was denied. I photographed everything and sent it to corporate, but they said this was a franchise and replied with a basic "we value your opinion" message. This is a very dirty, disgusting franchise. Don't stay here. It's also home to local drug addicts, whose things are all over the parking lot.

The clerk didn't even respond when I mentioned the condition of the place. The room was filthy, and so was the rest of the hotel. The windows and floors were dirty, dead bugs were in the bathroom and hanging from the ceiling, and the mirror looked like someone had wiped it with dirty rags. The inside of the room door was disgusting, and there was makeup on the bathroom walls. This was the filthiest room I've ever stayed in.

Location made this work for me. The front desk was helpful when I needed to switch rooms for an extra bed, thanks, Tanesha. The building is older and under new management, so I expected updates to take time and didn't expect anything fancy. Still, the stained, worn towels and permanent residents, including the couple with chairs set up outside their room on the walkway, weren't pleasant. I mainly needed somewhere to sleep and shower.
