Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Sacramento Folsom

The breakfast you pay for was poor, with quality and choices that don't compare to a regular continental breakfast. Still, Fairfield by Mariott Inn is good value for its location, close to great food, karaoke 200 ft. away, and central to what you need for a longer stay in Folsom. The cucumber and lemon water was a refreshing touch in the California sun, and the hot tub was never too busy and worked well for muscle therapy.

We found a bed bug just a few minutes before checking out after a two-night stay. I told Yun when I checked out, and the manager was supposed to call but hasn't. I won't stay here again. We had to thoroughly clean all our belongings before bringing them into our home.

The staff were wonderful throughout my several-day stay, especially Yen at the front desk, who went out of the way to make me feel welcome and looked after. The kitchen and catering staff were lovely too, and breakfast was always well prepared with healthy options. The hotel welcomes dogs, with a nice grassy field behind it where pets can play. I even saw kids playing soccer there one day, which made me smile. I left a big plastic protein powder jar filled with poop bags out back for dog owners, so kids wouldn't step in a surprise and track it inside. I found the needle disposal container in the first-floor bathroom strange. I'd expect feminine hygiene dispensers there, not something that seems more suited to a hospital or medical facility. I hope the hotel replaces it with something that makes more sense for business travelers and families. I highly recommend this place for a safe stay while working or passing through Folsom on the way to Tahoe. Mr. Marriot would be proud of how well it's run. I highly recommend everything about it!

There seems to be mold in these hotel bathrooms, and springtails were all over our bathroom floor. That makes me wonder whether the bathrooms aren't being cleaned properly or the mold issue isn't being dealt with. Either way, it's pretty gross.
