Ramada Plaza Fond du Lac

The room matched the photos online, and the bed and bedding were very comfortable. There was a fridge but no microwave, and the bathroom had marble floors and a full marble walk-in rain shower. The TV rising from the footboard was a fun touch. The building is beautiful inside and out, with marble and chandeliers everywhere. It's clean and well kept, with two grand pianos, a bar, a restaurant, a spa, and a small coffee shop for early mornings. There's free parking and outdoor seating too. I booked a massage, and he Jesse was EXCELLENT!! We'll be back.

We booked at the last minute because of bad weather, and I'm so glad we did. The hotel is stunning, and the restaurant meant we didn't have to head back out into the weather. The bartender/waitress was lovely and accommodating, and the arancini, burger, and drinks were excellent. The room stayed dark for sleeping, the heat worked well, and the bed and pillows were super comfortable. The hot rain shower had good pressure, though the floor was a little slippery, so use the gripper rug. The complimentary robe was plush and warm. Parking is in a covered ramp, with easy access to the lobby across a small outdoor courtyard. I'd absolutely stay again.

The Hotel Retlaw is our go-to whenever we're in the Fond Du Lac area. From the moment you enter, it feels special, with warm, elegant décor and character throughout. Every space is beautifully kept, and the rooms are distinctive, charming, and comfortable. I also appreciated the robes in the room, though a bit of fabric softener would make them less scratchy 😊. Rebecca deserves a special thank-you for taking such good care of us. She went above and beyond to make everything feel just right, and her kindness and hospitality made our visit extra special. Hands down, the best hotel in Fond du Lac. Can't wait to come back!

There is a TV, but streaming apps like Netflix aren't available unless you bring your own Fire Stick, as I did. And after 11pm, you have to call the front desk to get back in because there's no key fob access. If your phone died outside in freezing weather, that could turn into quite a survival story. The room was clean, and the building has character, maybe even spirits. The Hotel Retlaw is known for being haunted on the 7th floor, where our room was, so I was already preparing for ghost roommates. When I first walked in, a lady popped up from behind the front desk like she rose from the underworld 😩. I don't mean she actually came from underneath it, but it sure felt that way. For basics, there's a Keurig but no cups, so I guess you're meant to drink straight from the machine? 😂 There's a mini fridge but no freezer, which rules out keeping ice cream overnight. No microwave in the room either. You have to go down to the lower level to heat food, quite a commitment in a Wisconsin winter. With those missing basics, I won't stay again.
