Days Inn by Wyndham Forest

Being right by I-20 made getting around easy, but my room faced a noisy intersection. The Popeyes chicken next door was right outside my window.

I told the front desk at check-in that I didn't need room service, but housekeeping kept knocking anyway. Even the Do Not Disturb sign on my door was ignored. My room was noisy and had mosquitoes, and mud sat along the sidewalk to the rooms and in the foyer for two days. The manager wasn't friendly and didn't speak to me at breakfast.

The pool was supposed to be permanently closed, though there was nothing about that on the website or at the property. It had maybe a foot of water, with green scum growing all through it. The place and rooms were dirty, and a van back seat was sitting by the front door. Two days ago, an employee wouldn't even open the window to talk to us. When we tried to cancel, they gave us a hard time and kept saying to call Expedia, even though we'd booked directly through the hotel office. We went across the street to the Holiday Inn express instead. It had a clean pool and room, helpful employees, and a great breakfast. I wish I could add pictures.

The room itself was a room, but don't expect to sleep until checkout. They started knocking at 8:30, two and a half hours early. When I asked the front desk why, the guy's answer was, 'Did he only knock once?' I've worked in motels for over 10 years and traveled for work for the last 18, so I know how this goes. If you don't answer, they'll just walk in. I'm a woman traveling alone, and having a man enter my room at 8:30 in the morning would have felt awful.
