Scottish Inns & Suites Forney/East Dallas

The room was very dirty, and there was no ice in the ice machine. The service was friendly, but cleanliness was a dealbreaker, so I decided not to stay.

The desk attendants were courteous, the rooms had modern decor and nice renovations, and the AC kept things cool. I liked having a ceiling fan, and the price is hard to beat. It's centrally located for getting to downtown Forney, too. We could hear highway traffic when it got busy, and the neighbor in the next room, which shared a connecting door with ours, had loud music and conversation until just after 10 p.m. The sink was damaged and cracked. There was some kind of breakfast, but we didn't go down that morning. The pool was out of service for the season.

The room was over 80 degrees when we arrived in the middle of summer. The front desk said they don't turn on the AC until guests get there. Even the bathroom was hot, and after an hour, with the room still above 75, we knew we couldn't stay. There was black splatter on the walls, bugs and pink stuff in the sink, and floor planks lifting in several places with sharp edges. The pool had been filled in, so there was no swimming. I've stayed here before because my son lives nearby, but I won't return. The front desk person was rude, and we ended up yelling at each other. At first he said he couldn't refund me. After I took out my phone and began recording, his manner changed. We only needed somewhere to sleep for the night, and this wasn't it.

The room was spacious, and the ceiling fan helped circulate the cold air, which was useful in the Texas heat. The whole floor had been mopped and thoroughly cleaned. The pool was blue and open, and the location made getting around easy. I'd recommend this hotel and would stay here again anytime I'm within 20 miles.
