Clarion Pointe Forsyth I-75

The fitness area is pretty lacking, and the place could really use an update. I was pleasantly surprised by the clean bedding and linens, though, and the beds were firm, which is what I prefer.

Check-in was easy, the staff were friendly, and breakfast was good for a reasonable price. The rooms are always clean here. Love this place!

The beds were comfortable, but this was a terrible stay, and Clarion used to be a good name. The heating unit was noisy, and light came in around both the door and window. The toilet was only about 12 inches high, which was rough for me as a 69-year-old man. The tub had horrible brown stains, and the shower nozzle didn’t work properly, spraying water onto the floor and making us use towels to soak it up. Maintenance throughout the building was ridiculous. When we arrived, nobody was in the office, so I had to go to the Comfort Inn to get my room. I’d asked if it was non-smoking, and they said yes. But four guys were smoking and drinking on the porch outside it. They offered another room when I went back to the Comfort Inn, and that service is why I gave two stars. People kept standing outside my door smoking, and there were at least 30 cigarette butts outside my room the next morning. The place was a smoking dump. It was rated 2.5 stars, but to me it wasn’t even a quarter star. I wasted my money. Thanks for nothing.

Check-in was a hassle from start to finish. I had to walk to the hotel next door to check in, then return twice because the key didn’t work. They gave me a master key as my room key, and yes, I checked whether it opened other rooms. My room was dirty and in poor shape. After checkout I watched the cleaning crew, and their cart had linens but no cleaning products, vacuum, or anything else. It looked like they just changed the linens and called it done.
