Surestay By Best Western Forsyth

Our room looked brand new, was spotless, and had a really comfortable bed. The staff welcomed us warmly as soon as we arrived and were keen to help with recommendations. This was easily our favorite stop on the cross-country drive. We’ll definitely come back.

Lisa at the front desk made our stay. She was incredibly warm and helpful when I was there on a business trip with my husband and baby. With our hands full, she helped carry our suitcases to the room and brought breakfast back for us, too. The rooms were clean and we enjoyed our stay. We’ll return next time we’re in the area.

This is a bare bones hotel that took over an older property and switched to the Best Western brand a few months ago. The rooms have basic equipment and recent updates, and parking is decent. Dining options in town are limited. There’s no elevator, so stairs are needed for either floor, and the front desk closes after hours. If you stay, I’d suggest asking for the second floor. On the first floor you can hear everything, especially toilets flushing and showers, and it may wake you. Rooms facing the parking lot also get headlights shining in, since that floor is four feet below street level. The snack vending machine was empty, and there wasn’t a soda machine.

The updated rooms look nice, but the floors were dirty enough that I noticed when walking barefoot. It was noisy, too. You could hear people on the stairs and in the hallway, and voices carried a lot with no carpet. Breakfast opened late, so I went into town for coffee and breakfast. The bathroom mirror was nice, though the lighting wasn’t good.
