Hilton Fort Collins

The staff went out of their way to make the week great. Joe and Lekana at the front desk were especially friendly, Monica at Starbucks remembered my order after the first morning, and Ariel was great at the bar. I was here for a full week of work and too tired to go out, so having everything in one place made business travel easy. The restaurant was excellent, with fresh, hot food, and the bar made good Old Fashioned drinks. My room was clean, the service was great, and the location worked well. Thanks to the Hilton staff of Fort Collins!

We enjoyed the coffee maker in the upstairs Lounge, but there were a lot of problems. The building smelled moldy, and the air fresheners spraying constantly only made it smell like chemicals. Water kept leaking from upstairs into our room, and it got worse whenever someone used the water. The sound made it hard to sleep. The dated HVAC fan was loud when running, and the old elevator didn’t inspire confidence that it would carry us safely. The manager asked how the stay was, and I mentioned these issues. He said he’d address them through points, but that never happened.

The rooms are a good size and have nice amenities, and the hotel was pleasant, quiet, and conveniently located. The lobby coffee shop was handy early in the morning. Parking isn’t free, which I’d seen in reviews beforehand. Since the hotel is across from campus, I can see how free parking might get taken up by students and staff, though I suppose a gate could solve that. The gym is tiny for such a large hotel, about the size of a hotel room, with only a couple of bikes and treadmills. Also, the Indian restaurant in the strip mall just past the train tracks is outstanding, about a 5-7 minute walk away.

A perfectly alright stay, and breakfast was pretty good for starting the day. My server, Kalie, did a great job. The cafe was quiet when I sat down, then suddenly got busy, but she still checked in on me often.
