WoodSpring Suites Fort Collins

We only stayed because everything in Fort Collins was sold out for Homecoming at CSU, which is why we were there. The rate was extreme for the location, situation, and deplorable conditions. This was the worst hotel I've stayed in since one in Anaheim, CA, in the mid-90s. The whole place smelled disgusting and dirty, with marijuana odor throughout and a particularly foul elevator. The room was filthy: dirt covered the floor and my socks, while the bedding had hair balls, stains, and fresh dirt, almost like the beds had just been remade and left for us. I was shocked and appalled. I asked the front desk for new bedding and changed the bed myself. The towels smelled and had random stains; out of eight, I could barely find four we could use. The area around the hotel didn't feel favorable. When we arrived to check in, a woman on a bike was unwrapping a drug bindle while straddling it. That night, a man was sleeping on a bench outside, and vehicles were parked in the fire lane. The front desk closing at 10 PM on weekend nights also made it feel like a bad area. A lot of this could be fixed with genuine care for guests and the property.

During a transitional stretch while moving into a home, my family and I stayed here and felt welcomed, safe, and supported. The manager was amazing, kind, professional, and always ready to help, and the staff were just as wonderful. Their care and understanding really stood out. It was a truly great stay, and I highly recommend the hotel to anyone looking for comfort and exceptional service.

The bed squeaked and was really uncomfortable, and marijuana smell lingered in the elevator for two days in a row, even though this is supposed to be a smoke-free hotel. The hotel is right by Highway 25, so sleeping with the noise is a challenge. Wi-Fi was very slow, and they limit you to two devices. I used “forget the network” on my phone to connect a second laptop, but got a message saying I'd exceeded the limit. I disconnected both laptops and tried using only my phone, but still got the same message about being over the two-device maximum.

The building is only two years old, so the rooms look and feel modern. There’s a small gym but no business center. I found the GM, front desk staff, maintenance guy, and housekeepers all very friendly and super helpful. It's an economical extended-stay hotel, with weekly and monthly rates. Highly recommend!
