Artrageous on the river By RocketStay

The beautiful view was the only good thing about this apartment. It was so dirty and poorly maintained that I would've wanted my money back immediately. The baseboards were filthy, the fan was covered with dust, and several blinds were broken or missing. Some light fixtures lacked bulbs or didn't work. The washing machine was dirty, the couch stained, the freezer had a big pool of frozen water, and the microwave was damaged. As soon as I stepped into Apartment 102 at Artrageous on the River, I regretted booking it. I wish I could give it zero stars. The hostesses, Lizzy, Rachelle and Jason, did nothing to accommodate my family and me. They also don't have a maintenance person on weekends. Airbnb took care of the situation.

I loved my stay here. The washer and dryer were my favorite feature, and the room was fresh and clean. The hosts checked on me every day, morning and afternoon, to make sure everything was perfect. Thanks for making my stay memorable!

VRBO is just a glorified real estate agency listing properties, with no buyer protection for trip renters dealing with bad conditions at properties on its site. I'd avoid renting through it at all costs. My stay was horrendous, and the listing for ARTRAGEOUS ON THE RIVER BY ROCKET STAY ON 601 N RIO VISTA BLVD FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA looked nothing like the property. We rented for three nights with my family. On arrival, every parking spot we were required to use was taken. We had to find a random temporary spot, and the complex looked like a run down motel converted into rental units. Marijuana smoke engulfed us, coming from some of the units. We arrived very late after traveling, went straight to bed, and didn't inspect the place until morning. The master mattress was badly worn, with a huge divot in the center. My wife said that whenever she rolled over, she rolled back toward the middle. My daughter screamed early the next morning when her bed capsized onto the floor as she rolled over. The bed frame was broken, and she fell through while sleeping. There were also bookers in the kitchen wall, mold in the vents, peeling paint from water damage, and large dust bunnies blowing out of the AC. The vertical blinds were broken and fell out when we tried to close them, so the sun came through the floor to ceiling windows at dawn. The washer and dryer smelled terribly of mold and mildew, so we had to go elsewhere to wash our clothes. We reported things to management, who said maintenance would come. We left so we wouldn't be in the way, but when we returned the worker was still there. The vent covers were off where mold had been identified. I have pictures I'll post. They fixed the bed, internet, and TVs, but the master mattress was too bad for us to sleep on. The TVs and internet didn't work for a day and a half of our three day stay. On the second day, I woke to a threatening note saying my car would be towed, even though management had told me to park where I did because the required spots were unavailable. I was also told that pest control would spray the unit that day, which really creeped me out. Management offered nothing but apologies and no compensation. VRBO said there was nothing it could do and to contact the property. The complex smelled of marijuana throughout, and it was nothing like the photos. I wouldn't stay with this company under any circumstances. For your sake and your family's health and safety, steer clear of this property. UPDATE AS OF 2/3/26. They later offered a $75 refund or a return stay. I declined because renting the place had cost almost $1000. We got so sick from the mold that my daughter needed an inhaler after we got home because of mold poisoning. A month after our stay, she was only just finishing treatment. This goes beyond $75 or a return visit. The property hasn't contacted me since.

My husband booked four nights while going down for work. The room had been paid in full, and they had also taken a 200.00 security deposit. They emailed asking for a copy of his ID/DL, and he sent it. Then around 8:30 pm the night before his arrival, the company emailed to say they'd canceled his reservation. We're both Florida residents, and they had a copy of a government issued ID. When he called to ask why, they said it wasn't valid, even though it doesn't expire until 2027. They also refused to refund what he'd paid or return the security deposit. My husband did not cancel. The company did.
