B Ocean Resort Fort Lauderdale Beach

We ended up walking to the Marriott next door several times because the food was better and cheaper. At our hotel, the food was like Applebee's at luxury prices, service was painfully slow, and I waited over 20 minutes for one beer at the lobby bar. Everything included an 18% gratuity, even the self-serve breakfast buffet, and the mixed drinks were very weak. The pool was shut for two of our four days, with no warning or discount. The parties seemed to happen in the evening, so I don't understand why the pool couldn't stay open through the day. When the pool was closed, the beach bathrooms were closed too, so we had to walk all the way to the lobby. On open days the pool and beach both closed at 5 p.m., which felt early. Our room was nothing special. The doorless shower flooded the floor, so we had to use bath towels to soak up the puddles, and getting replacement towels was difficult. There were dead gnats on the ceiling and what looked like a dirty spot on the wall by the toilet. Housekeeping came once. When we got back, coffee had been spilled in the entryway, though we hadn't had coffee in the trash. I guessed the cleaner's room-to-room trash bag was leaking, but nobody cleaned it up despite several calls. There was no microwave for heating leftovers. I'd look for another resort if we came back to Ft. L.

I travel for work and spend about 40-50% of each month in hotels, and I'd recommend this place for solo travelers like me, couples, and families too. At check-in, the valet team was friendly, and everything went smoothly. Our room was beautiful with an incredible beach view. We had a drink at the lobby bar in the evening before heading out. The next morning, we got a mango carafe and a delicious burger at the pool bar, then relaxed in the beach chairs and had a few drinks from the beach bar. It made for a great morning and afternoon. Thanks to the B Ocean staff!

We arrived before our reservation time, and Julia and Carlton quickly found us an available room. They explained what we could enjoy around the resort and made us feel at home right away. The beach was clean and easy to get to, with plenty of chairs and service by both the shore and pool. The location also puts plenty of good restaurants and fun activities within easy reach, and each bar has its own drinks and feel. The staff were terrific, friendly, helpful, and upbeat. Our clean room was serviced regularly, and they replaced the bottled water each day. A microwave and a table for room service or leftovers would've been useful. The shower was only half enclosed, with no door, which felt a little odd. Those were our main issues, and overall we liked the resort.
