Days Inn by Wyndham Fort Lauderdale/Oakland Prk

We were scrambling for somewhere to stay at 2 am after the hotel we'd originally booked was overbooked. I called Days Inn on a whim, and Chris found us a non-smoking room quickly and even went out of his way to apply discounts. He was invaluable. The staff were friendly, the room was clean, and I'd definitely recommend the place.

The beds were so comfortable that I slept well every night. The location was convenient too. We did have one issue, but Kate from Days Inn took care of it quickly. She dropped what she was doing to get us settled, and every day she checked in to see if we needed anything. She was amazing.

I paid $189 for one night in a 2-Queen room on 2/20/26. The tub wouldn't drain and had about three inches of yellow water in it. Staff first tried to tell me yellow water was normal because “the city water is yellow.” It turned out a previous guest had let a soap wrapper go down the drain, but that also made me wonder whether anyone had even run the tub while cleaning the room. The yellow water looked like a toilet that hadn't been flushed. The place was in shambles. At the desk were torn bits of paper with year-old notices, and the door slammed against its safety lock. The outside door handle was coming away from the door; the maintenance guy said the dead bolt still worked, as if that settled the security concern. The smell was bad enough that I went to Publix for Febreeze and a few auto Xmas trees. That complaint barely got a reaction from staff, like this was what I should expect for $189 a night. The front desk manager showed some courtesy at first. Then, during a card reader issue, I saw him snatch my credit card from an employee and shove it back into his hand. It came across as ego, and he clearly made the employee feel small. I can't see why anyone at the company would want the Days Inn or Wyndham logo on this building. Nobody involved seemed to have a reputation worth caring about. Never again, and I'd skip this place.

The front desk staff were friendly and the beds themselves were very comfortable. The room was relatively clean, and, well, we survived. But for what we got, it was way overpriced, and the door was really hard to open.
