Private Residences at the Atlantic Resort and Spa

We were warmly greeted, and the staff were mostly friendly throughout our stay. The location worked so well that we didn’t need a rental car. There are plenty of places to eat and shop within walking distance, and we borrowed the complimentary bikes for a couple of hours. Before our Princess cruise, we spent two comfortable, quiet nights in a spacious, clean room with a full kitchenette and utensils. From our ocean-view balcony we watched two beautiful sunrises. The beach is a short walk away, with lounge chairs and towels included, though an umbrella costs an extra $30. There’s also a decent-sized heated pool, plus a spa, gym, restaurant, convenience store, and business center on site.

We were in a nice suite on the quiet, city-facing side of the 12th floor for five days. The trouble started when staff asked us to move to an “upgraded” suite. We declined because we only had one day left, then got a call saying there was a water leak in the room below and they needed access to ours. We were already on the way to Miami, but they called repeatedly and pressed us to come back and move our things. We told them to go in and do what they needed while we were gone. We asked for a manager, who wouldn’t speak with us. It made us suspect they wanted our room for another high-profile guest. Instead, we were moved to a room half the size. The manager apparently told staff he had spoken with us, but he never did and wouldn’t. We got a $45 credit, the resort fee for one day. Then a staff member let slip that they needed to clean the room ASAP. The trip could have been great if they’d been honest. I’ll use the larger hotel next door again, where we’ve never had problems. The food at the bar and restaurant has also declined since earlier visits.

We had a wonderful week and everyone on staff was so kind, attentive, helpful, and genuinely warm. Kevin, the young man who works on the beach, deserves a special mention. I’ve never seen anyone work as hard as he does while keeping such a positive attitude. He was a joy and made our beach days that much nicer. Thanks to the whole team for an amazing vacation!

The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, and Ricardo at the front desk made everything seamless. Thanks too to John at HLS for making our visit even better. My mom and I stayed at The Atlantic for two days in January. Our room was huge and very clean, with a lovely view over the pool, though we didn’t have time to use it. The ocean view was spectacular. We could also walk to several restaurants, bars, shops, and a park. We’ll definitely stay here again when we’re in the Miami - FLL area.
