Betty was the best, friendly and professional, and Cal was really nice at the bar. It’s refreshing when the people guests see are so welcoming. The hotel is lovely, the room was clean except for a giant glob of goo on the window, and the location and staff were great. After a long drive, the AC making loud noises overnight was frustrating. I told the front desk, and they apologized and said they’d take care of it. I’d stay again and hope another room wouldn’t have AC trouble. Maintenance needs to service the units regularly.

I’ve stayed here since it opened, and this was only the second time I’ve been disappointed. The room looked as if the attendant, inspector, and engineer were rushing. There was a used spoon on the chair, a dirty little tray beside it, and grime inside the cabinet for the fridge and microwave, with splatters near the coffee maker. The bathroom walls had splatters too, plus a questionable stain beside the toilet. The furniture was pretty scuffed. I didn’t raise it because I was only there overnight with my child for an appointment. I’ve always liked the service, the spa-like feel, and the great location, and this visit won’t stop me from returning. Carowinds is just down the street. Give them a try if you’re in the area.

The AC wasn’t working, so the room stayed at 74 degrees. Most people like it a bit cooler for sleeping. I called the receptionist, who acted like an air conditioning expert, but didn’t offer a discount or even complimentary breakfast to make up for the uncomfortable stay. Hire better, Courtyard. Three stars.

The room was clean and ready, and the hotel itself was nice. But the restaurant Starbucks on the first floor was awful. The girl couldn’t ring things up correctly and didn’t seem to care about fixing her mistakes. Food that used to be free at hotels is now something you pay for, and then I waited nearly 30 minutes for a hot ham and cheese croissant. Unreal. The coffee bar wasn’t set up, so I had to ask for sugar, half and half, and a straw that would reach the bottom of the cup. Rude service and not good. As a member, I wasn’t happy.
