Sun Deck Inn & Suites

We booked at the last minute for a beach getaway and had a great time. The studio was small but just right for a couple and well-priced. We mostly needed a place to shower and sleep, but it was cozy and comfortable, and the TV had Netflix. The rooms are adorable, check-in was easy, and management were kind and helpful. We could walk everywhere, and they had beach chairs and other things to borrow. I’d stay again.

My fiancé and I stayed last night and were really happy with it. The rooms were clean and homey, the people running the place were great, and you couldn’t beat the price. I already like supporting a local business over a chain, and the lovely stay made that even better. I wouldn’t try anywhere else for a weekend getaway.

We’ve stayed here a couple of times, a few years ago, and still talk about going back every year. Each room is different to suit individual needs, and the place has a unique feel. The owners are great people. Once we arrived, we didn’t move the car again because we could walk to everything: the fishing pier, beach, shops, and restaurants. This is my pick when we stay at the beach.

We enjoyed the beaches of Ft Myers with friends, but the room during our January 2021 stay was dirty enough that the bottoms of my feet turned black. We never had enough towels, the office was always empty, a towel bar fell off when touched, and a blind broke when I lifted it. A month later I realized my deposit hadn’t been returned. After months of calls, I was told several things, including that the refund would be processed, but it never happened. The owner was difficult to reach and didn’t return calls. When I finally got him on the phone three months after our stay, he was rude and yelling. There are many good choices in Florida, and I wouldn’t recommend this one.
