The staff are what stood out for me. The desk team really tries to connect with guests, and I saw them come up with creative ways to sort out people’s problems. The manager listens with care and explains the facts clearly while still showing compassion. She’s a role model for the company, and I haven’t experienced that kind of understanding elsewhere in the chain. I also had a problem with the bathroom sink stopper. Pete from maintenance saw what was needed and replaced the whole faucet assembly within 18 hours of my report. I know some people who stay at ESA might find this hard to believe, but that was my experience.

I booked and paid through Hotel.Com for a room with two double beds. When I arrived at 9:50, the desk said they didn’t have one, only a room with one bed and a pullout twin that wasn’t comfortable. The entrance and doors looked extremely dirty, and the hallway smelled like smoke. The elevator had a very strong marijuana smell. When I opened the room, two cockroaches ran across it, so I went straight back to the desk and asked to cancel. The clerk told me to contact Hotel.Com. I left and called them, but they said the hotel front desk had already closed at 10 p.m. and they’d call in the morning. It was June 2, and the hotel still wouldn’t answer to give Hotel.Com a waiver for a refund. Motel 6 Company said the hotel had to list it as a completed stay. I was exhausted after driving two hours and didn’t think to take pictures, which was a huge mistake. I still believe in honest people, but I feel like I was fooled again. The place was disgusting, the online pictures seemed like an AI-made false depiction, and I think the clean, nice reviews are false. I wasted so much time and never got my money back. This felt like a scam, and I’m tired of these internet and computer site problems.

My sister and I were in Florida to be with our father in the hospital, and our stay here turned into a terrible ordeal. The first room was so dirty it was unreal, with a dead lice bug on the bed. We went down for another room, but it was just as dirty and had dead cockroaches, so we left right away. We’d been there maybe 30 minutes from arrival to leaving, but they still refused to return the full amount we paid. There were pictures about human trafficking all over when we walked in. Before handing us our card, the man at the front counter said he’d move us to a better room if the first one wasn’t good enough. The time and money, the gas, and trying to reach corporate or even that location’s main desk afterward have all been awful. I plan to pursue legal action, post reviews everywhere, and contact the Health Department, Attorney General, and Better Business Bureau.

I hate leaving bad reviews, but this was awful. The room we got hadn’t been cleaned. The bed was made, but it was covered in the previous guests’ hair, and the bathroom was filthy, with hair everywhere and dried urine on the toilet seat. The building also needs serious repairs, and the walls were paper thin. My husband asked the manager for help. She said she was too busy to check rooms and offered us another one. It looked clean, but the whole floor, including that room, smelled strongly of mold. The smell was unbearable and would have caused an asthma attack. We asked to have our original room cleaned, but were told that couldn’t be done. They gave us fresh sheets to change the bed ourselves, and we were left in a filthy room. I truly feel the building should be condemned.

It was filthy throughout, with sticky stains or drink rings on every surface, grime in the floorboards, broken blinds, paper thin walls, and screaming kids audible from other floors as well as our hallway. The room phone and cooktop didn’t work, and there was barely any hot water. On my second to last day, several guests got locked out by their cards, and we waited in the lobby almost an hour for someone to come help. At least there was a gas station next door and some decent food places nearby. Still, this was easily one of the worst places I’ve stayed.
