That mattress was so good for my aching back I would’ve taken it home if it had been a checkout gift. The sheets felt soft and fresh, and the blanket kept me warm while the strong AC ran through the night. I slept great. The big TV at the foot of the bed had hundreds of channels, which helped take my mind off a rough day. The room itself was neat, with clean surfaces, floors, and bathroom, and it smelled like fresh linen when I walked in. I’d chosen a non-smoking room. The grounds were tidy, and there was plenty of parking near the room and the second floor stairs. The lobby attendant was polite and found me a room key for my needs within five minutes. I parked where I could see my car from the window, just as a precaution, though nothing here made me feel I had to watch it. For the price, I hadn’t expected such a good stay. I stopped here on the spur of the moment for somewhere reasonably priced, and ended up well rested and satisfied from check-in through the next morning. I’ve driven past this Red Roof Inn hundreds of times over the years. Now I’ll think of it as my little retreat when I want some space and a reset. I’ll come back now and then. Staff, keep it up. The pool was clean too, and I had it to myself. I’d recommend the place.

I stayed here for much of February because it was cheap and convenient, and you get what you pay for. Things changed when I had a reservation for four people and a dog. I’m white, but after bringing two Hispanic friends, we were suddenly being checked on constantly. I don’t know whether the owner was racist or senile, but he kept saying we had two kids, and I don’t even know two kids. The room didn’t have blankets, and when we asked for some, we were told no. We’re in the middle of moving, so we stayed about a week. This morning we tried to reserve again, but they said they didn’t want us there. That’s fine, there are motels everywhere, but it felt like they had some kind of prejudice, to the point of lying. They also didn’t return the full deposit, even though we cleaned everything and always tip the housekeepers. I have enough points for a free room here, maybe I should give them to a random person. A motel is a motel, but I wouldn’t associate with nasty people like this. And the roaches are about hamster-sized.

The room’s colors felt current, and the flooring was beautiful throughout. I was pleasantly surprised by how charming the property and grounds were. My room was so nice, and the staff at the front desk were pleasant when I checked in and out. Everything was very clean. Five stars, or ten if I could.

The owners are kind, respectful, and wonderful, and they deserve to be treated just as well. I’ve been coming here for work and travel for a few years now. It’s a great area for food, beaches, and bars. They deserve to have only the best guests stopping by. ✌️
