I was moved to a different room because the first one smelled. The replacement was quiet, comfortable, and seemed clean, and breakfast was decent. I was disappointed that nothing was offered for my status, not even goodies or water bottles. For what the hotel offers in Pierre, South Dakota, it felt particularly expensive, though I suppose limited choices let them set the price.

The mildew smell in the room was really strong, even though it looked nice. The elevator was broken, and the desk clerk said I just needed to push hard on the door to get it moving. That sounded sketchy, so I took the stairs. If I hadn’t been staying for work, I’d have taken off a star. I wouldn’t pay to stay here myself, but I also wouldn’t complain to my work for booking it.

The lobby staff were nice enough, but the place seemed poorly managed. At breakfast, the coffee machines were out of order, so I waited ten minutes for coffee to be made in the back. There were no cinnamon rolls, so I tried a bagel, but they were out of cream cheese too. For the price, I wish I’d stayed somewhere else.

The front desk woman was so sweet and helpful. The price was good, the room was spotless, and the bed was amazingly comfortable. The bathroom was great, too, with nice products and a huge mirror. Highly recommend.

The bed was comfortable and the room was clean, but it had an odor. About 15 minutes after I checked in, I got a text asking if the room was okay. I mentioned the smell and asked for some air freshener. Crickets. Don’t use the technology if you’re not going to follow through.
