I always use the deadbolt, and that was the only thing keeping a man from breaking into my room on my first night. He was yelling obscenities and making threats, so I called the front desk. Nobody answered, and I ended up calling 9/11. I told the operator he seemed to be having an episode, since I expected they could send medics to help sedate him. The police arrived quickly and handled it. Nobody from the hotel contacted me, so I eventually called the desk again. They said the man had been sent back upstairs and the police were dealing with him, which was only happening because I had called them. I later learned he really had suffered a breakdown, and I hope he got the help he needed. Management’s explanation was strange: one manager said staff hadn’t answered because someone was trying to locate him. Why were they tracking down an unstable person themselves instead of calling police and letting professionals handle it? I’m glad he didn’t hurt anyone before they arrived. I don’t write many reviews, but this experience deserves one. I hope they change their procedures. Keep your door deadbolted.

The staff were lovely, but the room had no water pressure, even in the tub, and there was mold around every shower fixture. The mini fridge didn’t keep anything cold, so I had to throw my food out, and the carpets felt sticky. I wouldn’t stay again.

Ben at the front desk told me they require guests to pay for two nights because they’re nearly sold out, even though I only needed one night. That makes no sense and felt like a cash grab. I had no reason to pay for a night I wouldn’t use. It’s an unreasonable, inflexible policy, and I won’t stay here or recommend it to anyone looking for fair, clear booking terms. Fort Wayne Indiana

The location worked perfectly, the staff were friendly, and my room was clean. Breakfast was inconsistent, but still wasn’t bad compared with what I’ve had at other hotels. Great place and staff.

My colleague couldn’t figure out how to switch off the light over the cabinet in her room, so she slept with the covers over her head. There’s a switch on the cabinet’s side by the wall if that happens to you. The hotel itself was great, and the service was excellent. I was excited to get a whirlpool room with my Hilton honors diamond status, but the tub was in such sad shape that I wasn’t getting in it.
